CINCINNATI HORROR FILM FESTIVAL

It’s about time to give a little more to the horror fans in Cincinnati
Mitchell Wells and Ben Isaacs have put together the 1st annual Cincinnati Horror Film Festival that will be running in June. The festival will be held at the Fairfield Community Arts Center in Fairfield, Ohio on Saturday June 14th, 2008.
The theater is located inside of the Community Center with a seating capacity of 200. It’s a beautiful theater located in a great part of the city with state of the art equipment. We will have the theater from 11am to 11pm, so that is a full 12 hours of films, guest speakers, and more. Even though its a smaller event it is specifically targeted to horror fans so the target market is there for you.
Due to a growing need for horror in the Ohio area, it was only natural for a festival like this to happen….
So with the help of HorrorSociety. com as well as Ben Isaacs and crew…we are proud to announce the 1st annual Cincinnati Horror Film Fest!!
We will be starting out slow and building up to give you some of the best Horror Films! Both short films and feature length will be shown at the Fairfield Community Arts Center in Fairfield, Ohio. The Cincinnati Horror Film Festival will be held at the beautiful Theater at the Fairfield Community Arts Center. This traditional proscenium theatre seats 237 at full capacity with state-of-the-art lighting and sound. Due to the graphic nature of horror film violence, you must be 18 or older to purchase a ticket.
This first fest will be 11 hours of Films, Guests, Horror Raffle, and more! From 11am to 11pm we will be dishing out the horror for you with non-stop movies showcasing some of the best talent out there.

The Horror Vault consists of nine short grueling stories about the
cruely and insanity of mankind. Hopefully you will enjoy, find the
dark humor amusing and hopefully make you wonder.
“When John Met Julia” is a modern twist on Romeo and Juliet, except
everything goes a bit wrong…for poor John anyway. Written and
directed by Kim Sønderholm, starring Claire Ross-Brown (Love Me
Forever, Pistoleros) as Julia and Kim Sønderholm (Craig, Brutal
Incasso) as John.
“Delusion” is a black/white 50ies style of horror drama, directed by
Mark Machillo, starring Jonaton Trent (Alone with her, Slaughter,
Fashion Victim), Heather Tom (The Bold and The Beautiful, The Young
and The Restless) and many others.
“Alone” is a story about being all alone in a sorority house on a dark
night. Written and directed by Kenny Selko, featuring Mandy Amano
(Ghosts of Goldfield, Coyote Ugly), Jerod Edington (Ghost Month, E.R)
and Guy Nardulli (Jekyll, House M.D).
“Mental Distortion” is a story about Pete, waking on on his floor,
about to do a gruesome find. Directed by Kim Sønderholm who also plays
Pete, supported by Maja Muhlack (One Hell Of A Christmas, Westbrick
Murders) and Barbara Zatler (Craig, Predatory Instinct).
“Dead To The World” has english actor and director Russ Diaper (Deadly
Pursuit, The Demon Within) take a stab at the Ted Bundy legend from a
new perspective. In supporting roles are Paul Kelleher (Meatcleaver
Massacre, Moonlight Murders) and Joyia Fitch (Midsomer Murders, The
Last Hangman).
“Disconnected” directed by David Boone and Josh Card is a black and
white little threat of the absurd - dark humor and crude and explicit
torture mixed in one.
“Echoes” by Gabriel Dowrick, the australian addition about a man,
waking up, tied to a bed in what seems to be a nursing home, knowing
little of what is going on.
“The Demon” by Thomas Steen Soerensen is the story about a man chased
by his own ghosts and desires, which is about to explode as he picks
up a young pretty woman hitchhiking at the side of the road, coming
seemingly from nowhere. Or is she?
Finally, “Retina” by JP Wenner starring Rachel Grubb and Heather Amos,
is a black and white and extremely absurd and nihilistic story about..
well - you’re the audience - you decide!

Sid Haig Confirmed as Special Guest at 2008 Fest! ACTOR SID HAIG CONFIRMED AS GUEST OF THE 2008 EERIE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL Erie, Pa. (4/22/08) - The Eerie Horror Film Festival announced today that veteran actor Sid Haig will be appearing at their fifth annual event this October. Haig, perhaps best known for his role as Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s “House of 1,000 Corpses” and “The Devil’s Rejects”, has appeared in over one hundred film and television programs since 1960, including “THX 1138″, a science fiction film directed by a then unknown George Lucas and the Quentin Tarantino films “Jackie Brown” and “Kill Bill Vol. 2″. In the 1970’s Haig appeared in many action movies, including the James Bond film “Diamonds are Forever” and the blaxploitation classics “Coffy”, “Foxy Brown” and “The Big Doll House” with Pam Grier. The name of the convention is “The Milwaukee County Massacre” and it will take place in Milwaukee WI at The Wisconsin State Fair Park Grounds on the dates of June 7th and 8th. We were hoping you might be interested in becoming a vendor at this convention as we believe in your films and product and believe at a horror convention/music festival your product will sell well and it’s a great chance to widen your audience and hit a whole new customer base!This event will be quite different than most as it will be a full fledged Heavy Metal Music festival(20+ bands on 2 stages) intertwined with a Horror Convention(vendors,filmmakers,and horror celebs). Scream Queen Hazel Court Dies at
82
AP posted this a few hours ago… LOS ANGELES (April 17) - Hazel Court, an English actress who co-starred with the likes of Boris Karloff and Vincent Price in popular horror movies of the 1950s and ’60s, has died. She was 82.
Court died early Tuesday of a heart attack at her home near Lake Tahoe, daughter Sally Walsh said Wednesday.Hazel Court, April 15: The ’50s and ’60s scream queen who became famous for her roles in classic horror films like ‘The Raven’ and ‘The Masque of the Red Death’ passed away from a heart attack at the age of 82.While she had a substantial acting career both in England and on American TV, Court was perhaps best known for her work in such films as 1963’s “The Raven.” She co-starred with Price, Karloff and Peter Lorre in director Roger Corman’s take on the classic Edgar Allan Poe poem.
Corman directed her in five movies. Like other “scream queens” of the era, Court often relied on her cleavage and her ability to shriek in fear and die horrible deaths for her roles.
“The Premature Burial,” “The Masque of the Red Death,” “The Curse of Frankenstein” and “Devil Girl from Mars” helped propel her to cult status and brought her fan mail even in her later years.
“She’d probably get over 100 pieces of fan mail a month and she would apply to every single one,” her daughter said.
Court had finished an autobiography, “Hazel Court - Horror Queen,” which will be published in Britain, Walsh said.
The daughter of a professional cricket player, Court was born Feb. 10, 1926, in the English town of Sutton Coldfield. As a teenager, she was appearing in stage productions when she was spotted and signed by the J. Arthur Rank Organisation, which owned movie studios and theaters.
She got her first movie bit part by the time she was 18 and went on to become a popular actress and pinup girl, her daughter said.
“She was one of the great beauties of all time,” Walsh said. “She was a redhead with really green eyes and almost … the perfect face. She was on the cover of almost every magazine.”
Court co-starred with Patrick O’Neal in the 1957 British TV comedy series “Dick and the Duchess.” In the late 1950s, she came to the United States to work on the TV show “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.”
Besides acting, Court was a commissioned sculptor and painter whose works appeared in public galleries.
Court is survived by daughters Walsh and Courtney Taylor, son Jonathan Taylor and stepdaughters Anne Taylor Fleming and Avery Taylor.

LEGENDARY ACTOR KENNY MILLER TO APPEAR AT 2008 EERIE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL Veteran Hollywood actor Kenny Miller has confirmed that he will be appearing as a special guest at the 2008 Eerie Horror Film Festival and Expo this October in Erie, Pennsylvania. Miller, best known to horror and science fiction fans for his roles in the 1950’s cult films “I Was A Teenage Werewolf” (with Michael Landon) and “Attack of the Puppet People”, also appeared in such Hollywood classics as “East of Eden” with James Dean, Orson Welle’s “Touch of Evil” and Cecil B. DeMille’s production of “The Bucanneer” with Charlton Heston. Throughout his career, which now spans six decades, Miller has worked with a literal who’s who of Hollywood, including Paul Newman, Yul Brynner and “Psycho” star, Janet Leigh. In the early 1960s he had one of the largest teen fan clubs in America and spent his free time partying with some of entertainment’s biggest names, including Elvis Presley, Burt Reynolds and Connie Stevens. “I’m really looking forward to appearing at the Eerie Horror Film Festival” said Miller, “I’ve heard nothing but great things about it from all of the actors I know who have been guests there.” Miller said that he’s also looking forward to meeting with attendees of the Festival in October. “I love being able to meet the fans on a one to one basis and to discuss the films I’ve been in and the other actors I’ve been fortunate to work with”. He adds that he also “loves horror movies”. Born on October 15, 1931 in Springfield, Ohio, Kenny Miller, the son of a minister, broke quietly into show biz behind the backs of his parents, and relocated to California after the death of his father. Early in his career Kenny played a singer and dancer in many teen rock ‘n roll films. Miller’s long list of credits include numerous guest appearances on many television programs throughout the years, from American Bandstand to a reoccurring role on the ABC series B. L. Stryker, which won him the Crystal Reel Award for Best Supporting Actor. Kenny has written an autobiography, which he collaborated with Donald Vaughan. The first edition, which is now out of print, was titled Kenny Miller: Surviving Teenage Werewolves, Puppet People and Hollywood. A new updated and expanded version titled Hollywood Inside & Out: The Kenny Miller Story is now available.
