Vampire Killers is a new web-based show created by Doug Hutchison. It’s a pretty slick production that’s broken up into two minute(or so) episodes(6 so far). I have to say it probably one of the more stylish and well put together indy productions I’ve seen in a while. Vampire Killers is definitely worth the watch. The vampire chicks ain’t bad either. Man, I like hot, bloody chicks.

Here’s the first episode:
The saga of a master of screams unfolds on Deadpit Radio this week with part one of our two-part interview with director Jeff Burr. Join us as as we chronicle the creation of such underrated horror gems as “The Offspring” and “Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III” along the dark corridors and recesses of a macabre mind. Feel the plunder and experience the terror of masses of DVD-excess this week, as we review such torrid titles as Jenna Jameson’s undead occupation “Zombie Strippers”, Stuart Gordon’s middle of the road shocker “Stuck”, the quintessential haunted house flick “The Amityville Horror”, and all the ingredients for some real unhappy campers in “Return to Sleepaway Camp”. All this plus new tagline trivia for prizes, super-special announcements, a new Deadpit mini-segment, and the delicate sounds of rednecks shrieking falsetto into your ear hole…only on Deadpit.com

Gross Movie Reviews #142
By Tim Gross

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (DVD) – A film starring Alex Winter (The Lost Boys and Freaked) and Keanu Reeves (The River’s Edge and Matrix) as two dumb Californian dudes that happen to be the saviors of the world sometime in the future with their music they are going to make. But until then they have to find a way to past their history test or they fail and will be separated and destroying the future world as we know it! Already twenty years old the film is still funny as Bill and Ted travel the past with the help of ‘Rufus’ played by George Carlin and a time travel device that happens to be a phone booth (so 80s)… Bill and Ted keep the laughs going as they know no better as they steal different historical figures for their report. What is more surprising about the movie is at the time who would of seen these two a) being big in some way whether directing or starring in huge budgeted films and b) These characters being a precursor to Mike Judge’s “Beavis and Butthead” some weird way? To this day I still hear this film being quoted in films and magazines on a regular basis. The movie is on DVD in a couple versions: by itself (no extras), together with Bogus Journey the sequel, or a special two-disc version that might no longer be available, but anyway I give this priceless comedy 3 ½ stars.

Bill &Ted’s Bogus Journey (DVD) – Three years later Alex and Keanu make their triumph return as Bill and Ted and this time around they are killed by an ‘Evil Bill & Ted’. The film is not much on substance but still entertaining as the movie is stolen away by genre veteran William Sadler playing the Grim Reaper who loses a game of ‘Battleship’ to Bill & Ted and must do what they say! The sequel is no where as good as the original but where else are you going to see George Carlin hiding in the body of Pam Grier and that’s the cue for the joints to be lit… I give this sequel 2 ½ stars.

Kirksdale (Theater) – A short film set in the 50s and a police officer is taking a teenage girl to a mental facility because her parents caught her trying to run away from home with her boyfriend. Starts off innocently enough but slowly becomes clear there is something wrong when they reach the facility? The film has a couple unnerving scenes worth seeing as they made me cringe! I give the short 4 stars.

Midnight Movie (Theater) – A really cool slasher film about a man who made a horror film 40 years ago and hasn’t seen it since because he was committed to a mental facility because it was rumored he killed everyone on the set of the film. Doctors not knowing what else to do with him decide to let him watch it to hope for a breakthrough with him and the complete opposite happens as everyone in the facility dies and he disappears! Five years pass and a small midnight theater decides to play the film and suddenly the patrons start to be killed off one by one as the film continues. A lot of cool gore and reminds me of the film “Cut” starring Molly Ringwald which I also enjoyed. If you can find it, watch it you will not be disappointed. I give the film 3 stars.

In Hell (DVD) – The great one ‘Jean-Claude Van Damme’ plays a character whose wife is killed by a man who has connections and gets all charges dropped because it’s Russia. Jean-Claude kills the man and goes to a shithole prison where he learns to fight to get what he wants… The film doesn’t have Donald Gibb but does have ex-NFL great Lawrence Taylor co-starring as I give the film 2 stars.

Until Death (DVD) – Jean-Claude Van Damme plays a detective who has some skeletons in the closet and cannot nail down his ex-partner who happens to be a huge druglord. Once he gets through half of the movie he gets shot in the head and lives and begins his quest to right all his wrongs. I give the film 2 ½ stars.

Yeti (DVD/Sci-Fi Channel) – A horrible film about a college football team plane crashing in the Himalayas where a huge yeti or yetis happen to live and its up to Dom Deluise’s son (Peter who also starred in Fango’s Children of the Night) to rescue them. The movie is horrible but a lot of fun to watch when the Yetis starts jumping from mountain to mountain like its Mario from NES’s “Super Mario Bros.”! It’s a fucking riot and needs to be rented just to witness it! I give it 1 star just for the jumping Yeti.

Splinter (DVD) – A higher end independent horror film about a mysterious parasite or virus that is affecting everyone who it touches. The thing has a couple and a convict trapped in a gas station and have no way out except trying to figure out how they are going to survive long enough to kill it before it spreads. The film doesn’t go into any detail of how it starts or why but this works to its advantage of keeping you at the edge of your seat with its gruesome gore scenes and images of the thing changing and growing as it kills! A very cool horror flick that I hope more people get to see as I give it 3 stars.

Secrets of the Clown (DVD) – The latest independent film out of Brain Damage Films about a man who has just broken up with his girlfriend because she loves him but needs to leave that eventually learns that she is a witch who is on the run from an evil man that made a deal with her four years ago about immortality. Interesting plot to tackle as many filmmakers find it tough to pull off in my opinion but worth watching as the man’s friends die one by one by the hands of an evil clown. If anything else to see the film, it opens with you the viewer staring at two beautifully awesome fake fun bags and watches them jiggle around as she eventually gets killed. I give the movie 2 stars… I would give it 2 ½ stars but at times the sound or voices doesn’t sync up with the characters when they speak and reminds me of old ‘Godzilla’ films. But you can find this film and more at www.braindamagefilms.com .

Who was Lucio Fulci, director of such horror classics as ZOMBI 2, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD and THE BEYOND — an eccentric? A misogynist? A genius?
