April 4th, 5th and 6th, 2008
Cinema Wasteland guarantees every fan through the door more films and events than any one fan can attend over the course of the weekend. You’ll get your moneys worth or we’ll die trying to deliver on that promise.
WEEKEND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
FRIDAY (April 4th):
4:30pm - 3-Day Pass holders admitted.
5:00pm - Doors Open to Single Day Pass holders. Show officially opens.
6:00pm - EVENT: Producer Mike Baronas highlights his “Paura” (Fear) documentary on Lucio Fulci in MOVIE ROOM 2.
6:15pm - MOVIE: Lucio Fulci’s CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD (aka The Gates of Hell) begins in MOVIE ROOM 1.
7:30pm - MOVIE: Cinema Wasteland’s Friday Night Short Film Block begins in MOVIE ROOM 2. This time around, catch THE BEAST IN ME, FLUSH, SAND MAN, RAVEN GETS A LIFE, a trailer and show reel for BLACK DEVIL DOLL and trailers for anything the studios send us by show time. Catch it all in MOVIE ROOM 2.
8:00pm - GUEST: It’s our European Horror panel with guests CATRIONA MacCOLL and GIOVANNI LOMBARDO RADICE. First hand news on working with Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato, and other Italian horror legends in MOVIE ROOM 1.
9:00pm - GUEST: Roy Frumkes introduces the new, updated cut of DOCUMENT OF THE DEAD, his look at the zombie films of George Romero, in MOVIE ROOM 2.
9:30pm - GUEST: Glen Coburn presents his 80’s horror opus, BLOODSUCKERS FROM OUTER SPACE, with an introduction and Q&A with attending fans in MOVIE ROOM 1.
11:30pm - MOVIE: John Carpenter’s ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 begins in MOVIE ROOM 1. Can we get guest Austin Stoker to do an introduction? We’ll certainly ask him!
11:30pm - MOVIE: Bill Zebub’s THE WORST HORROR MOVIE EVER MADE gets a premier screening to end the night in MOVIE ROOM 2.
1:00am - MOVIE: Possible film to end the night in MOVIE ROOM 1 to be announced if time permits.
SATURDAY (April 5th):
10:00am - Doors Open for all pass holders.
10:30am - MOVIE: “Hangover Theater” kicks off the morning with the rare beach party flick, IT’S A BIKINI WORLD, in MOVIE ROOM 1. Tommy Kirk, Deborah Walley and an early role for Sid Haig as “Daddy”… How can you go wrong?!
10:30am - MOVIE: A block of adults only, “Wasteland Cartoons” begins in MOVIE ROOM 2.
11:45am to NOON - Saturday Morning THREE STOOGES begins after the film, IT’S A BIKINI WORLD. Stooges on reel film, thanks to Akron/Cleveland’s very own Son of Ghoul in MOVIE ROOM 1.
12:30pm - GUEST: Hardcore wrestler, Mad Man Pondo presents a show reel of his most brutal matches. Co-hosted by wrestling uberfan, 42nd Street Pete in MOVIE ROOM 2.
1:30pm - GUEST: Ilsa. She’s one of the most infamous villains in movie history. Join director Don Edmonds, “Ilsa” herself Dyanne Thorne, and actor, producer, musician Howard Maurer as they talk about the films and legacy of Ilsa and her many guises in MOVIE ROOM 1.
2:00pm - MOVIE: Tomb of Ligeia, with Vincent Price and Elizabeth Shepherd, begins in MOVIE ROOM 2.
3:30pm - GUEST: Join Elizabeth Shepherd (after the Tomb of Ligeia screening) to talk about working with Vincent Price, being cast as the original “Emma Peel” in the Avengers TV show, dying in THE OMEN and more, in MOVIE ROOM 2.
4:30pm - GUEST - Join director Jack Hill and stars Sid Haig and Beverly Washburn as they discuss not just the film SPIDER BABY, but anything else you fans care to ask them, when we all meet up in MOVIE ROOM 1.
4:30pm - MOVIE: LITTLE RED DEVIL, the latest from The Skeleton Factory, begins in MOVIE ROOM 2.
5:45pm - EVENT: Join grindhouse historian, 42nd Street Pete, and his panel of Grindhouse and Drive-In movie experts for the second in his continuing panel on the glory days of Grindhouse and Drive-In movies in MOVIE ROOM 1.
6:30pm - MOVIE: Director Ron Bonk’s CLAY begins in MOVIE ROOM 2, followed by a short Q&A after the screening.
8:00pm - EVENT: It’s another GHASTLEE NITE AT THE MOVIES with your host, A. Ghastlee Ghoul. This time around, Spring is in the air with ROMANCE-O-RAMA NITE. Interactive games with the audience, comedy, skits, music, free stuff… It’s like the kick off to the best Saturday Night Party you can imagine if you join us in MOVIE ROOM 1.
9:00pm - GUEST: Resident Wasteland author, Joe Knetter, brings his unique brand of drunken spoken word presentations to his fans in MOVIE ROOM 2.
10:30pm - MOVIE: A nice twist on the familiar slasher theme. Happy Cloud Pictures latest, SPLATTER MOVIE, begins in MOVIE ROOM 2.
10:30pm - MOVIE: Underwater Nazi zombies attack in SHOCK WAVES. Catch it on real film in MOVIE ROOM 1.
11:30pm - MOVIE: The infamous “Ilsa” struts her stuff in ILSA, HAREM KEEPER OF THE OIL SHEIKS, to end the night’s screenings in MOVIE ROOM 2.
MIDNIGHT - MOVIE: A more pathetic vampire you’ll not find in movie history. ANDY WARHOL’S DRACULA ends the nights screenings in MOVIE ROOM 1. Don’t miss it!
SUNDAY (April 6th):
11:00am - Doors open for all pass holders.
NOON - MOVIE: Consider it “Hangover Theater Part 2” this time around as WHITE ZOMBIE, the first zombie movie made, begins in MOVIE ROOM 1.
NOON - MOVIE: THE TOMB OF LIGEIA makes a return to MOVIE ROOM 2 to kick off the day.
1:30pm - MOVIE: Miss it Saturday morning? If so, then here’s your last chance to catch the rare beach party movie, IT’S A BIKINI WORLD, in MOVIE ROOM 1.
1:30pm - Glen Coburn’s BLOODSUCKERS FROM OUTER SPACE continues the screenings in MOVIE ROOM 2. If there’s a crowd, I can’t imagine that director Coburn won’t offer up an introduction to attending fans.
3:00pm - MOVIE: John Carpenter’s ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13, starring Wasteland Guest, Austin Stoker, ends the weekend screenings in MOVIE ROOM 1.
3:00pm - MOVIE: Lucio Fulci’s CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD (aka The Gates of Hell) wraps up the weekend screenings in MOVIE ROOM 2.
5:00pm - The Cinema Wasteland “Spring Spectacular” 2008 officially shuts its doors. Join us October 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2008 when we do it all over again.

* Events are subject to last minute changes from the posted schedule.
* All movie screenings are free to anybody, but Cinema Wasteland pass holders reserve the right to actually sit down in a seat before anybody who just wanders in.
