THREE NEW DESIGNS
We teased these earlier this month and now they’re here. Plus, these new designs are printed even larger than our usual designs, so you’re sure to be spotted showing off your love of horror. So what are you waiting for? Go grab CHUD, Zombie, and Tide You Over…available in Small all the way up to 5X-LARGE!!
OBEY LIMITED EDITION ZIPPERED HOODIE
Ok, you spoke and we listened…. When asked, the majority of you wanted to see the Obey design printed over the zipper. And while that does pose a technical challenge to print, we decided to go for it and print up a limited edition run of 100 hoodies! And let me tell you, they’re sweet! But once they’re gone…they’re gone for good! So go check’em out and grab one to keep yourself warm this winter.
BIGGER IS BETTER
One of our biggest (excuse the pun) requests is from people asking for larger sizes. So, we thought it was time to start printing our more popular designs in 4X and 5X sizes and will be adding more as we reprint other designs. But we’re only doing a few of each size for now so if you need a larger size, be sure to get one soon before they sell out as we won’t be doing more until we reprint that particular design. As of right now, they are available in these designs: Cujo, Sour Ground, Father’s Day, Ash, Obey, WWJD?, Evil One, Wolfman’s Got Nards, and Frog Brothers. And remember, all of our vintage shirts are always available in sizes up to 5X (selected colors) as they are made to order.
********** VINTAGE SHIRTS UPDATE : PLEASE READ **********
We will be upgrading our equipment soon, so there may be a longer waiting time for any vintage shirt orders placed in the next week or so. While we will continue to do our best to get these to you in our 3-4 week delivery time (as specified on the site), I just wanted to let you know about the wait ahead of time. As for those of you who have already placed orders, most of the shirts have shipped already and the rest will be out by early next week. Please keep in mind that these shirts are made to order, meaning that we only print them when you order them…we do not stock them like our regular designs. The process is extensive, but we feel that it is worth the wait! And as always, is you have any questions, problems, or concerns about your order, please do not hesitate to contact us!
Thanks again for all your support!

Asylum Press, publisher of cutting edge graphic novels, announces the release of the first online trailer for DTOX: SPECIAL BIOHAZARD EDITION No.0
Releasing in February 2008, DTOX #0: SPECIAL BIOHAZARD EDITION, introduces a new character to the Asylum Universe. DTOX is presented in a magazine size format. DTOX is written by Frank Forte (Warlash, Undead Evil) and illustrated by Nenad Gucunja (Satan’s 3-Ring Circus of Hell, Girls and Corpses).
The trailer and can be seen here: www.dtoxcomic.com
Also available on the website is a full color preview, character descriptions, concept art and more.
DTOX takes place in a post-Armageddon future. The lone biohazard warrior fights to cleanse the earth of a rising toxic mutant population. Killvixen, a knife-wielding femme fatale, soon joins him. Together, armed with the mobile arsenal code-named DTANK, they travel the ravaged midwest in search of rogue monstrosities and fuel. This 12-page action packed story introduces the world of DTOX, Killvixen and the biogeneticist, Scourge who is creating an army of disease carrying mutants. Also features a special concept art section with unused penciled pages and character design.
“DTOX is inspired by the Heavy Metal Magazine I used to read in the 1980’s. Characters like Ranxerox and Den showed how far comics could really go. Pepe Moreno, Guido Crepax and Caza just blew me away. I grew tired of costumed superheroes after a while and wanted something more. I found it in the pages of Heavy Metal, ” explains Frank Forte. ” Now I’m giving back.”
“Working on DTOX was fantastic, ” says Nenad Gucunja, ” I was able go off on the script and expand the scenes. Then Frank would go back and rewrite it. What came out was something fun and demented.”
On Sale early February 2008
Intended Audience: Mature Readers
Retail Price: $2.95, SC, 24pgs, Full color.
can be seen in Diamond Previews Dec. 2007
DTOX was originally scheduled for a Dec. 2007 release, but has been resolicited for Feb. 2008.

Premiering January 22nd and running through 2008
(Los Angeles — CA, January, 22nd 2008) – Darwin Entertainment announces the launch of Darwin’s Pâté on YouTube. Darwin’s Pâté was shot over a period of five days In Los Angeles. The webisodes will premiere Monday, Jan. 21st, 2008 and there will be a new episode every Monday.
“After an extended nine-week theatrical run we went directly into filming the play,†explains producer Frank Forte, “ We got some great angles and captured some of the important performances in close-up. We had a wonderful, dedicated team who all worked very hard.â€
Director Mark Landsman goes on to comment, “I read the material and was intrigued by the edgy, dark tone; the sharp, wry language; and the overall metaphor of betrayal and decay. I was hooked and excited to help envision Darwin’s Pâté as both a stage and video production. We then lucked out with a fantastic cast of highly talented actors and a fantastic graphic novelist turned production designer who dove into the rich material and brought it vibrantly to life.â€
“I was very fortunate to have a super cast and crew to bring the pages to life. We are currently approaching production companies and investors to fund an independent film based on the play,†says writer Elizabeth J. Musgrave, “We are shopping the play around to small off-Broadway theater companies. A graphic novel is currently in production.â€
Acclaimed graphic novelist and animator, Frank Forte (HIHI PUFFY AMI YUMI, KID NOTORIOUS, THE MR. MEN SHOW) produced and designed the production. Composer Walter Werzowa, founder of Musikvergnuegen, whose recent compositions include those for Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott, designed the sound. Mark Landsman (director, FX series, 30 DAYS; and the award-winning AFI short film, SKYLAB) directs.
The writer, Elizabeth J. Musgrave, has more than 10 plays and one feature film, EDGE OF NOWHERE, directed by Phillip McKeon (star of the sitcom classic, ALICE) to her credit. For her screenplays, she was a quarter and semi-finalist in the Chesterfield Writers Film Project, Writers’ Script Network and Fade-In competitions. Additionally, she has placed in the quarter-finals for her TV spec in the Scriptapalooza contest. She also had the opportunity to work alongside legendary producer, Ray Stark, on two of her projects. She received MFA from the U. of Georgia.
The cast features Sarah Zoe Canner, star of Agnieska Holland’s upcoming film, THE TRUE STORY OF JANOSIK; the French film, PETTY CRIMES by director Michel Ferry; and starring opposite Taylor Nichols (HBO’s MIND OF THE MARRIED MAN) in the upcoming feature film, CHTHONIK, directed by Polish director Rafal Zielinski. Horror Icons Kane Hodder and Tony Moran Announced as First Guests of the 2008 Eerie Horror Film Festival & Expo
Erie, Pa. (01/12/08) – The Eerie Horror Film Festival announced today that actors Kane Hodder and Tony Moran will be appearing as special guests at their 5th annual event this October.
Hodder, stunt man turned actor, is best known for his portrayal of Jason Voorhees in four of the “Friday the 13th” movies. He has also appeared in “2001 Maniacs”, “Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield” and the critically acclaimed film, “Hatchet”.
“Kane is one of our most requested guests”, says Festival President Greg Ropp, “it’ll be a real treat for the fans to finally meet “Jason” in the flesh.”
Joining Hodder will be another horror icon - actor Tony Moran who portrayed Michael Myers in John Carpenter’s “Halloween” and “Halloween II”.
Moran, who is unmasked during the ultra-tense ending of the original “Halloween”, has become a fan-favorite on the convention circuit and is currently acting in a new horror film called “Beg”.
This is the second time Moran has appeared at the Festival, who took part in a “Halloween” cast reunion at the event in 2006, although it will be the first he is attending for the entire weekend.
“Tony could only stay for a couple of days during our third year”, said Ropp, “a lot of fans were bummed that they didn’t get to meet him, now they’ll get a second chance.”
Ropp adds that more guests will be announced in the near future, including a cast reunion of one of the most notorious horror films of all time, although he’s tight lipped about the title.
The 5th Annual Eerie Horror Film Festival will take place October 8 – 12, 2008, in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Gross Movie Reviews #111
By Tim Gross
In the immortal words of Alice Cooper, “Welcome To My Nightmareâ€.
The Wraith (DVD) – A sci-fi film from the mid-80s that stars Charlie Sheen as ‘Jamie’ who was killed awhile back by some car racing freaks and suddenly appears again riding a motorcycle into town as the character ‘Jake’ and looks strangely familiar to his girlfriend. Of course Charlie challenges the car racing freaks to races in a cool ass car that is faster than anything on earth and kills them one by one. Charlie Sheen was in several other films before this but this film was actually declared his first starring role at one point. But remember “Platoon†was released the same year. But anyhow, Clint Howard plays a car computer geek that is apart of the car racing freaks and Randy Quaid plays the sheriff who is trying to figure who is killing everyone! A fun sci-fi film for the generation who remembers watching this and other crap on HBO in the mid-80s. I give the $5 DVD 3 stars and very tracking down for your collection.
Truth or Dare? (DVD) – No Madonna, but what is considered a cult classic by most in the micro budget film world is a film from Tim Ritter who made a film horror fans wanted to watch over and over again back in the late 80s. The film chronicles a man who goes completely insane one day after finding out his girlfriend is fucking someone else while he works. So he decides to start playing the childhood game “Truth or Dare†with himself and eventually is committed. He gets out a year later and goes on a killing spree and gets committed again… A thrilling and fun adventure in my opinion of a film that showed all small filmmakers you can live your dream. DVD has some interesting extras that talk about how the film could have been different than the finished product and how Tim Ritter hated working with so called big time producers. I give the DVD 3 stars and can be found at www.b-movie.com .
Tromeo & Juliet (DVD) – The classic Shakespeare story told by Troma and Lloyd Kaufmann with Lemmy of the rock band “Motorhead†as the narrator. The classic tale was updated the only way Troma can with independent violence, sex, piercings, and a crazy but fun script while some of the lines from the original story were retained. In my opinion, this was Lloyd’s last great film for Troma unless his latest “Poutrygeist†ever gets released. Lloyd was just brilliant when he did this film and it also features a young Tiffany Shepis and of course independent legend Debbie Rochon, plus the screenplay was written by James Gunn. This film never gets old and will be looked upon as one of the best independent features ever made. There is several special editions of “Tromeo and Juliet†floating around now and they are all pretty much packed with the usual Troma extras and I give the movie 3 ½ stars.
The Prophecy II (DVD) – The first movie had lots of success and people could not get enough of Christopher Walken’s character “Gabriel†the angel against God. This time around a woman played by Jennifer Beals has sex with a man who is the angel “Danyel†who impregnates her with the last savior of the world and Gabriel is back to ripped it away from her as he believes ‘monkeys’ have no right! And yes fans you do see Jennifer’s boobies and oh what a sight it is. But moving on, if Gabriel does not accomplish his goal he will spend the rest of his life with the ‘monkeys’ as he calls humans. This sequel was not just well warranted and a great follow up but was packed with stars such as: Brittany Murphy fresh off of “Cherry Fallsâ€, Tom “House of 1000 Corpses†Towles, Eric Roberts who plays the angel ‘Michael’, and Bruce “Re-Animator†Abbott who reprises his role from the first film as he is now crazed from hearing voices and a monk. Seek the sequel out people as I give it 3 stars.
The Prophecy III: The Ascent (DVD) – Another great sequel to the series but should have been the last film as it picks up years later but right off the storyline of the second film showing Gabriel being what he has hated the most. But the child that Jennifer Beals had in the second film is now grown up and does not understand that when he was shot and killed by Brad Douriff he has now become an angel or the savior of the monkeys. And another angel has come to kill him before he accomplishes his destiny. Understanding this time around, Gabriel makes a choice of picking the monkey’s side and helps the savior as once again Walken’s performance not only carries the film but is just a joy to watch. This film ends perfectly until Dimension Films fucks it up by making two more unwanted sequels years later but is above and beyond great direct-to-video sequel that you will ever see! I give the movie 3 ½ stars.
Troll (DVD) – A new family (Michael Moriarty and others) move into a new apartment building that seems to have a ‘troll’ living in the basement that takes over a little girl’s body in order to take everyone’s apartment over one by one. The film was produced by Charles Band and Empire Pictures and still makes wonder what is his thing for puppets and dolls and every one of his films. The movie is somewhat boring at times but worth watching once just to see Sonny Bono in an acting role. I give it 2 stars.
Troll 2 (DVD) – The 1991 sequel stars nobody, makes no fucking sense, and is one big piece of shit! I love it… A family supposedly switches places with a family in the town “Nilbog†for a month where all the townsfolk are goblins and want you to eat a lot of green jello and veggies. The movie is very horrible but gets better with every viewing. I give it 3 ½ stars just for being so bad that it is good and has a documentary being made about how bad it is?
Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (DVD) – Michael Gross reprises his role as Burt Gummer the giant worm hunter in the sequel that set up the short lived Sci-fi Channel TV series and also introduces us to the “ASS-BLASTERSâ€! If you are any kind of “Tremors†fan, you must see the “ASS-BLASTERSâ€! I give the movie 2 ½ stars.
Death Wish II (DVD) – It’s 1977, and Chuck Bronson is back as the vigilante tracking down the gang who raped and killed his daughter. Classic Chuck, I give it 3 stars, but don’t forget to look for Lawrence Fishburne as one of the gang members.
Death Wish III (DVD) – It’s 1982, and guess what; Chuck Bronson is back as the vigilante helping a friend out by taking on a gang that attacks an apartment building and its tenants. Look for Alex Winter (Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure) as one of the gang members who makes it through almost the whole entire film and ends with the leader of the gang getting shot with a fucking BAZOOKA! I give it 3 stars.
Death Wish IV: The Crackdown (DVD) – It’s 1987, and nothing apparently stops Chuck Bronson as he takes on all the LA drug mobs. Lots of gore, lots of violence, and lots of Bronson! Look for a young Danny Trejo and that guy who played Horace Pinker in Wes Craven’s “Shocker†who are in the film for about 30 seconds. I give this classic sequel 3 stars.
Death Wish V: The Face of Death (DVD) – It’s 1994, and apparently Chuck Bronson does not age! This time Chuck’s soon to be wife is disfigured and killed by her ex-husband who is trying to take over the modeling industry. And Chuck is pissed! Look for Lifeforce’s Robert Joy as a weird/psycho killer for hire in this not as good sequel in the Death Wish series as I give it 2 stars.
Attack Force (DVD) – Another direct-to-video film that stars Steven Seagal as a government agent who trained a couple armed forces men for a special mission in Europe. The film starts off as the usual Seagal fun then it goes weird about halfway in as it becomes a sci-fi film about a guy who is trying to make supersoliders with his new drug that brings out the primal instinct of you. This is a very different Seagal film from his usually fares and worth finding but the movie is funny in the aspect that for some reason there is some scenes that are dubbed where Steven Seagal is speaking… For what reason it is unknown but funny as shit watching! I give the movie 2 ½ stars.
The Thing Below (DVD) – A bad low budget sci-fi film about a creature that was pulled up from the bottom of the ocean onto an oil rig that is able to read people’s minds to kill them. Bad CGI and seeing this movie countless times before but with a different title make this a useless rental. The only redeeming thing about the whole film is where this guy’s dream porn star dances for a couple minutes then kills him. The porn star’s fake talents are so big the producers of this film should of used them as life preservers and left the film. I give the movie 0 stars and advice to pass it on the rental shelves.

The Deadpit that almost didn’t exist!(1.11.08)
DEADPIT Radio is kickin’ it old school this week on the show. Do to unforseeable technical issues we will not be featuring the as advertised Lou Perryman interview nor will we feature the fan call in portion. However we still decided to put on a show for the fans of the ‘Pit. Your redneck hosts ‘The Creepy Kentuckian’ and ‘Uncle Bill’ do go through the week’s horror news and answer some of your fan questions. They also take a ghoulie gander at one of horror’s greatest new review books in ‘Horror 101: The A-List of Horror Films and Monster Movies’. As for the dvd goodness we take a look at 4th Floor Pictures’ newest chapter in the Dead Body Man series titled ‘Dead Body Man Chronicles’ , Gary Busey gone wild in ‘Man Eater’ , an independent pscho-thriller starring Felissa Rose in ‘Dark Chamber’. Ireland’s take on Zomedy films in ‘Boy Eats World, and James Wan’s newest feature film ‘Death Sentence’. All of this and more on the DEADPIT that almost never was!

Toronto, CANADA – Rue Morgue Cinema and Shade Rupe present Valentine Villainy: An Evening of Short Horror Films About Love and Desire (Monday February 11, 7:00 pm at The Pioneer Theatre, 155 East 3rd Street at Avenue A, 212.591.0434) for a night of award-winning films including Rue Morgue Magazine publisher Rodrigo Gudiño’s controversial shocker The Demonology of Desire (“Bizarre, shocking and brilliantly done.†- Raindance Film Festival) and his acclaimed film The Eyes of Edward James (“A stunning psychological thriller.†– Toronto Sun). Also screening will be Phil Mucci’s award-winning film The Listening Dead (voted Best Short Film of 2007 in Rue Morgue Magazine’s Year In Review), and Stuart Andrews’ humorous and insightful Girls, Guns & Goblins: Making The Demonology of Desire. Both Gudiño and Mucci will be present to introduce their respective films and answer questions from the audience. A pile of swag bags courtesy of Rue Morgue will also be on hand for lucky attendees.
Shade Rupe proudly returns to the Pioneer for a grand night of filmic debauchery and debasement. Currently handling publicity for Wild Eye Releasing’s upcoming original feature, Blitzkrieg: Escape from Stalag 69, the Bravo’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments commentator and author of the upcoming interview anthology Dark Stars Rising is excited to offer the first full presentation of Rodrigo Gudiño’s film output to date. Valentine Villainy is the world premiere of this collection, and the combination of Gudiño’s colorful visuals and distinguished storytelling is guaranteed to send every participant home with a wry smile, and a coldly warmed heart.
An Official Selection of over fifteen film festivals worldwide The Demonology of Desire is an unnerving and bizarre experience involving a precocious young girl with a very unusual need. A powerful wish rips the soft fabric of friendship between an unsuspecting boy, the girl’s best friend and a sinister thing they keep locked in a cage in the basement…
This “brave, provocative, blackly comic and deeply perverse film†(FanTasia Film Festival) was awarded Best Short 2007 (Rhode Island Horror Film Festival) and Special Jury Prize for Best Actress and Best Effects (Fantastic Fest, Austin).
The Demonology of Desire features cinematography by Derek Rogers, CSC, (Cube, Resident Evil: Apocalypse) and special make-up effects by Gaslight Studio (300, Land of the Dead, Saw III). “One fucked up number†-Ain’t It Cool News.
An official selection of over twenty festivals worldwide, including the Toronto International Film Festival and the Seattle International Film Festival, The Eyes of Edward James has garnered awards in Korea’s prestigious Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival and Scotland’s Dead By Dawn Horror Film Festival.
The fifteen-minute suspense film’s tale unfurls through a hypnotized patient’s couchbound recant of the evening that his wife is brutally murdered. His eyes become our own as he makes his way through the dark maze of his own twisted memory. The Eyes of Edward James stars Richard Underhill (Blue Murder). “An auspicious debut†- Twitch Film
Director Phil Mucci began his career as a music and advertising photographer in New York City. During his decade long stint as a photographer, he worked with a slew of popular artists, including Christina Aguilera, Jay-Z, Ludacris, Trent Reznor, My Chemical Romance, The Killers, and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to name a few. In his gothic fable The Listening Dead, an obsessed composer and his wife are haunted by the apparition of a young woman. The composer’s wife unknowingly inflicts him with a horrible curse, and the spirit takes matters into her own hands… “Phil Mucci creates melodic little pocket universes… He has profound understanding of the techniques that make up film production from seemingly every era and uses those techniques to evoke the era itself in his work.†– Ain’t It Cool News
