CGI Needed for Short Film
We are in search of a CGI artist to make a nuclear bomb explosion go off (in distance behind the trees) in a shot of the film at the end (it’s about a three to four second clip). Please message me back with your demo reel if you have one up on YouTube.com.

Gross Movie Reviews #92
By Tim Gross
I got a variety of movie reviews this time around that will make your head melt just thinking I watch this stuff!
Hellboy: Sword of Storms (DVD) – Ron Perlman and Selma Blair voice their characters they played in the comic book film “Hellboyâ€. In this animated feature Hellboy is thrown back into another dimension fighting ghosts and ghouls from a myth in Japan. Its lots of fun like the live action movie and keep the adventures of Hellboy going until the sequel is released next year. I give it 3 stars.
Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer (Theater) – The fantastic foursome is back in a sequel that is more effects driven and more fun than the original. This time around a mysterious alien appears on earth creating holes in the earth. Fantastic Four figure out who he is and are trying to stop him as every time he shows up at a planet, eight days later the planet dies. With the surprising help of Dr. Doom, the foursome stops the Silver Surfer but find out he isn’t the reason why earth is in danger! Awesome effects, cheesy comic book fun, lots of Dr. Doom, and the film was able to top the first film in quality in my opinion. My only problem with the film is Jessica Alba who plays “Invisible Womanâ€, thinks she can act by the end of the film and that gets real annoying by time the credits roll. Next time Jessica, just look pretty! But I give the film 3 ½ stars.
Stan Lee’s Harpies (DVD/Sci-Fi Channel) – Josh Becker the director should be ashamed of himself for even trying a very bad “Army of Darkness†rip-off film! This film sucked huge hairy nut sack! This film was terrible in every aspect including casting “Bio-Dome†Baldwin in the film. By the end I was hoping Stan Lee slit his wrists knowing this film exists! I give it 0 stars.
28 Weeks Later (Theater) – The film picks up exactly six months later after the first with all new characters and virus has gone away or so it seems. A woman shows up with a bite that has healed in new London and of course the virus is released by accident. I’ll give the filmmaker credit the film is one of the goriest horror films on the big screen the last couple of years but that’s where the horror goodness stops. The film lacks Danny Boyle calling the shots and seems to wanna go several different directions without exactly focusing on any of them like the original film. I’m happy they left it open but upset that they could have done a lot better than awesome gore scenes. The other thing that bothered me was the first film was simple, this one tried to complicate things with having one man with the rage virus seem to think. Sorry folks, we have Romero for that! I give this disappointing sequel 1 ½ stars.
Darkman II: The Return of Durant (DVD) – The mob boss returns in this first of two back to back sequels to the highly underrated Sam Raimi classic. This time around for the back to back sequels the dude that played the Ho-Tep in Universal’s remake of “The Mummy†plays the Darkman. Westlake or Darkman still bent on trying to make his formula for synthetic skin make it pass the 99 minute mark has also found himself becoming an underground hero as he begins to save lives when in danger. Durant returns from the dead to find and kill Westlake in this awesome direct to video movie. I give it 3 stars.
Darkman III: Die Darkman Die (DVD) – This time around our comic book hero Darkman is in battle with a drug lord played by Jeff Fahey. Fahey is trying to capture Darkman for research so he could put the ultimate steroid out on the street for sale. Lots of action, blood, and low budget acting make this a cool sequel. I give it 3 stars.
Rats: Night of Terror (DVD) – An ‘eye-talian’ gore film from Bruno Mattei the master of awesomely crappy horror films. As he once explained it, “Night of the Living Dead with rats!†Yes horror fans, killer flesh eating rats in the future that are killing some human survivors who happen to stumble upon a secret scientific facility. Lots of gore, lots of nudity, and bad dubbing, it is fucking beautiful! This movie is available by itself on DVD or together with another classic, “Hell of the Living Deadâ€. You should be able to find them pretty cheap on the internet. I give this classic 3 ½ stars.
Live Free or Die Hard (Theater) – Bruce Wills is back after 12 years to an action movie series almost as good as Steven Segal films! He’s older but still kicks ass in this stunt filled, computer effect filled film. This time around Bruce Wills is sent to pick up a low level hacker by the FBI. Problem, somebody is trying to kill the hacker for unknown reasons as the whole United States is being shut down electronically. Of course Bruce Wills will use bullets, police car, truck, or whatever to kill the bad guys and stop their plan! I give the film 4 stars as the whole movie series is some of the best action films this side of Chuck Norris!
