Gross Movie Reviews #91
By Tim Gross
We have crap, classics, and more crap read to find which is which!
Dead Clowns (DVD) – We have stock footage of a hurricane, clowns that are zombies that have returned for revenge on a local coastal town, lots of gore, and it stars Debbie Rochon, Brinke Stevens, and Robyn Griggs! I give it 2 ½ stars, believe me I couldn’t make this shit up!
Alien Siege (DVD/Sci-fi Channel) – Aliens arrive to planet earth and the government sets up a lottery to sacrifice millions to get some new technology. A big dog turd that I give 0 stars.
The Professional (DVD) – Possibly one of the best action/drama films ever made! Jean Reno plays a hitman who takes in a 13 year old girl (Natalie Portman) whose family has just been killed by corrupt undercover cops led by Gary Oldman! The girl in return for Reno saving her teaches him to read, to love, and that there is many things to life besides killing people. The unrated DVD “LEON†is movie lovers dream; I give the movie 4 stars.
The Prophecy (DVD) – Eric Stoltz plays an angel that knows a war is coming and a secret and gives it to a little girl to keep it away from another angel ‘Gabriel’. The movie was once called “God’s Army†before it was released but was changed because it was said the title stirred up too much crap with certain religious groups. The film blends stories and myths about angels and humans beautifully and Christopher Walken playing the role of ‘Gabriel’ made this film a must watch for any horror movie fan. I give it 4 stars.
The Exorcist (DVD) – For me this film is a no brainer of how fucking cool this horror film is. It’s a film that not only launched the acting career of Linda Blair but is the ultimate perfect possession horror film ever made. The original is always the best and still holds up somewhat to today’s standards in horror films. I give the film 4 stars.
The Exorcist II: The Heretic (DVD) – The sequel is possibly the lamest sequel to any horror franchise ever made. Instead building on what was a great first film or just leaving it alone, Hollywood decided four years after the first film they will just insult all moviegoers with a big 2 hour plus piece donkey shit that I swear puts me to sleep anytime I watch it. I give it 0 stars.
They Don’t Cut The Grass Anymore (DVD) – One the weirdest and twisted films I might have ever seen! A no budget horror film about two guys from the south who cut grass in New York but decide to start a massacre of women Southern style. Lots of bad Southern accents, lots of women with thick New York accents, bad make-up, bad acting, but a formula for lots of fun to watch! This would make a great double bill with John McBride’s “Cannibal Campoutâ€. The DVD also has lots of extras including several short films by the filmmaker. I give it 3 stars.
Parasite (DVD) – A Charles Band sci-fi/horror film about a near future that has a scientist on the run with a pair of parasites that could kill everyone left in the world unless he finds a way to kill them. It is Demi Moore’s first starring role and the movie was filmed in 3-D! A must have for Demi Moore fans as I give the movie 2 ½ stars.
The Zombie Chronicles (DVD) – A very shitty movie about a journalist who picks up a weird old dude who tells stories of zombies. Get this the low budget piece of fucking shit is shot in 3-D. This film is possibly now the new winner of being worst film I have ever watched. The film is complete and utter piece camel shit. I felt I needed to cut open my wrists for just knowing that not only I watched it but own it! Be warned, you might die of suicide after watching what somebody considered a film that needed to be put on a DVD? I give it a negative 4 stars!
