The dead shall inherit the month, as Deadpit kicks of the first week of May of the Dead with lively actor/writer/director William Butler. We talk about his roles in “Night of the Living Dead ‘90″, “Leatherface”, “Friday the 13th VII”, and his writing/directing on films like “Return of the Living Dead IV and V”, “The Gingerdead Man”, “Madhouse”, and “Furnace”. We also journey down to Morningside Cemetary to dig up the new Anchor Bay Ent. DVD releases of Don Coscarelli’s spherical horror epics “Phantasm” and “Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead”, along with DJ Speedy’s Euro-horror/techno compilation “The Colors of Darkness”, and Robert Hammer’s dial-a-murder forewarning “Don’t Answer the Phone”. All this plus some site changes, Dr. Mowamba’s new written interview with stuntwoman/actress Danielle Burgio, a brand new column by filmmaker Jay Reel, and an exciting announcement regarding next week’s special guest. The only thing you have to lose is your mind…only on Deadpit Radio.

Actor James Duval has been portraying diverse and offbeat characters in film for nearly 15 years and has managed to walk that thin line between indie and mainstream cinema, gaining respect and praise for his performances in both.
As the star of director Gregg Araki’s underground favorites, “Totally F***ked Up”, “The Doom Generation” and “Nowhere” he earned a much deserved cult following for his convincing roles as an alienated and troubled youth of the angst ridden 1990’s.
It wasn’t long before mainstream filmmakers took notice of James and in 1996 he was cast in the science fiction mega-hit, “Independence Day”, though he would continue to bounce back an forth between the indie scene and Hollywood from this point on.
In 1999, Duval had a role in the cult hit “SLC Punk” and was then cast in the incredibly neglected, critically praised film, “Go” with Sarah Polley and Katie Holmes. Back in the mainstream, James starred with Nicolas Cage and Angelina Jolie in the action hit, “Gone in 60 Seconds”.
For “The Doe Boy”, Duval won the Best Actor Award at the American Indian Film Festival and earned some of the best reviews of his career.
It was his role in “Donnie Darko” however, as a nightmarish, six foot tall rabbit named Frank, that film fanatics would forever link James Duval with. One of those rare films that is impossible to categorize, “Donnie Darko” has a cult following throughout the world that continues to grow to this very day.
In 2002, Duval appeared in another underground favorite, Lucky McKee’s horror film “May “with Angela Bettis and he continues to act in both mainstream and independent films.
