Actress Dee Wallace Stone to Appear at 2007 Eerie Horror Film Festival

Posted by Tim on February 4, 2007

Actress Dee Wallace Stone will be appearing as a special guest at the 2007 Eerie Horror Film Festival this October in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Stone, best known for her portrayal as the mom in Steven Spielberg’s “E.T.”, is also well known amongst horror fans for her starring roles in “The Howling”, “Cujo”, “The Frighteners”, “The Hills Have Eyes” and the science fiction cult classic, “Critters”.
She has recently been cast in Rob Zombie’s new version of “Halloween” which will be released later this year.
Dee has had very successful career in film and television, as well as on the stage. She runs an acting studio and hopes to pass on the positive aspects of the business to her many students.
Television viewers will recognize Stone from the recent series “Sons and Daughters” and younger fans may recall her starring role in episodes of “The New Lassie”.
In 1999, Dee began what she believes to be her true destiny: motivational speaking. When asked what her greatest value as a motivational speaker is, she replies, “I’m the girl next door who learned how to make life work the hard way. I lived it. Victim to Victory. When you find the joy, you have to share it.”
Dee Wallace Stone will be joining a guest list at the annual event that includes actress Adrienne Barbeau, special effects guru Tom Savini and actor Ken Foree.
The Eerie Horror Film Festival takes place October 10 - 14, 2007 at the Erie Playhouse in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Legendary Film and Television Actress Adrienne Barbeau to Appear at 2007

Posted by Tim on February 4, 2007

The Eerie Horror Film Festival has announced that actress Adrienne Barbeau will be appearing as a special guest at their annual event this October.
An entire evening will be devoted to the actress who has starred in several horror and science fiction films including George A. Romero’s “Creepshow”, Wes Craven’s “Swamp Thing” and John Carpenter’s “Escape from New York” and “The Fog”. She will also be appearing in Rob Zombie’s new version of “Halloween”, which should hit theaters in the Fall of 2007.
Barbeau’s amazing career has spanned 40 years and is still evolving.
She began performing in 1963 with the San Jose Civic Light Opera and by the time she was 18, she had already entertained our servicemen on army bases throughout South East Asia and was on her way to New York where she made her Broadway debut as Tevye’s second daughter, Hodel, in Fiddler on the Roof. A Tony nomination for her creation of Rizzo in the original Broadway production of Grease led her back to California and the role of Bea Arthur’s daughter, Carol, in the hit series Maude.
Adrienne’s numerous films for television include the Ace Award winning Double Crossed: The Barry Seal Story opposite Dennis Hopper and Scott Turow’s Burden of Proof with Hector Elizondo. Lifetime Network audiences can see her in the often repeated Shattered Hearts and Drew Carey fans know her as Oswald’s mom. She has just completed two seasons on HBO’s fascinating series Carnivale, starring as Ruthie the Snake Dancer.
Film audiences know her best from The Fog, Escape from New York, Swamp Thing, Cannonball Run, Creepshow, Back to School, Two Evil Eyes, and The Convent. Soon to be released is the feature comedy A Wake in Providence and the horror film The Unholy.
Adrienne has starred in over 25 musicals and plays, among them Pump Boys & Dinettes; Women Behind Bars; Kander and Ebb’s And the World Goes Round; The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas; Love Letters; the West coast premieres of A Walk on the Wild Side and Drop Dead; the Canadian premiere of Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers; and the world premiere of What the Rabbi Saw by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore. Most recently she returned to Fiddler on the Roof as Tevye’s wife, Golde. “I figure if I live long enough, I’ll be playing Golde’s grandmother, Tzeitle.”.
Off camera, Adrienne is the voice of Catwoman in Batman, The Animated Series; the spokesperson for various television and radio commercials and the narrator of many books on tape, television documentaries, and the Imax film The Living Sea. She has released a cd - not the expected musical showtunes but a great collection of the country, blues, jazz and pop tunes she does in her concert appearances across the country.
Adrienne has just completed a collection of stories about her life titled There Are Worse Things I Could Do (Carroll & Graf publishers) which is in bookstores now.
In March of 1997, Adrienne gave birth to identical twin boys making her “the only woman on the maternity ward who was a member of AARP”. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Billy Van Zandt, the twins, William and Walker, and her older son, Cody.
The 4th Annual Eerie Horror Film Festival takes place October 10 - 14, 2007 at the Erie Playhouse in Erie, Pennsylvania.
