Comcast, way to fuck over the rest of your customers in PA? Or whats left…

(From our friends at www.bloodtypeonline.com)
Here has been the subsequent press release directly from WBGN itself on Comcast Cable’s decision to cancel the WBGN network (which aired the It’s Alive Show.)

WBGN Press Release
For Immediate Release:
WBGN-TV
Pittsburgh, PA

On Tuesday October 31, 2006 Comcast Cable dropped WBGN-TV from the 140,000 homes that they acquired from Adelphia Cable earlier this year. This action was taken in spite of the fact that WBGN-TV had an agreement with Adelphia to carry WBGN until December 31, 2008. WBGN will continue to be seen on 500,000 cabled homes through the Comcast system and other cable operators systems.

“WBGN’s carriage agreement with Adelphia Cable should have run until December 2008,” Ron Bruno President of WBGN said “However this cable monopoly has decided not to honor that agreement and has stopped providing our station to the former Adelphia households.”

“This past summer we negotiated in good faith with Comcast for carriage on all Comcast systems in the Pittsburgh region. We had a very clear understanding that Comcast would honor our Adelphia agreement.”

WBGN is the regions only locally owned television station available on Comcast. WBGN airs family oriented programming like Married with Children, Family Ties, America’s Funniest Home Videos, Nanny, Mad About You, Hawaii Five 0, Mission Impossible and Geraldo at Large. Locally, WBGN has nightly news and weather breaks at the top and bottom of every half hour, a daily live local mass at noon, the critically acclaimed “It’s Alive” show on Saturday night and Pittsburgh Thunder auto racing beginning November 11, 2006.

Nielsen Media Research says that at least 10 percent of all homes, included those former Adelphia customers, watch WBGN each evening. Bruno says that the station is receiving more calls “than our phone system can handle” with irate customers wondering why they cannot receive WBGN. Bruno is encouraging all customers of Comcast to call and express there dissatisfaction of this situation and ask that Comcast return WBGN to the former Adelphia viewers.

“It’s clear that these former Adelphia customers were enjoying WBGN’s programming,” Bruno added. “It’s unfortunate that Comcast has used its oppressive power in the market to discontinue carriage of the local station that these customers clearly want.”

WBGN is an over the air television station, which means people in the affected areas wishing to receive WBGN add an antenna and receive WBGN for free over the air.

Squirrel attacks woman in Oil City, Pa!

October 30,2006
I forgot to post about another squirrel attack in PA! Yes folks, apparently it is “Attack of the Killer Squirrels” as for the second time in three months a squirrel has attacked someone. This time in Oil City, Pa. A lady in her mid-30’s was attacked by a squirrel that stared and followed her for two blocks, then leaped at her and bit and clawed her several times and waited on her porch for her after she ran for safety into her house! Animal Control came and killed the animal but it has not been said what was the cause of this attack… It was also stated by the local news this is very “RARE”! Really, two attacks in three months, my ass is about to take action againist these little son-of-a-bitches if one comes for me!
