In Pittsburgh, Pa., The CLO Cabaret is doing the popular ‘Buffy’ episode, “Once More With Feeling.” at the local downtown theater. If you happen to come in costume as one of the characters from the episode, a comic book store “Phantom of the Attic” is giving out prizes! It begins at 10:00pm. Tickets are $10; $12 at the door. Call 412-456-6666 for more details or tickets.
* LAKELAND, Florida, is the site of two gator attacks, the first was by a 12-foot gator who attacked a man trying to score crack (LOL)! This was the quote from the AP “Fish and Wildlife trappers said they believe they caught the alligator near the site of the attack later Wednesday, although they said they couldn’t be sure it was the same animal.”
* A reported second attack in Lakeland, had a man being attacked by another gator which took a chunk of the man’s back out! (OUCH)
* Apparently Giant F’n Rats are taking over Florida and they carry “MONKEYPOX”! Where’s X-Files when you need them? Gambian rats is what they are called they are from Africa… Here’s a quote from the AP from a man at the CDC, “His quest is to prove what many scientists suspect: that African rodents imported as pets caused a monkeypox outbreak in the Midwest in 2003 that sickened dozens of adults and children with a virus related to smallpox. Scientists suspect Gambian rats may play a role.”
* Sealions are attacking people on the shores of beaches in San Fran, California. This was a quote from a expert, “Now a series of sea-lion attacks on people in recent months has led experts to warn that the animals are not as cute and cuddly as they appear.” No fucking shit if they are attacking!
* If you haven’t heard about this yet apparently you don’t live on the internet, “Killer Whale attacking trainer in San Diego”. Yes, it is very true as the whale got ahold of the trainer’s foot and pulled him under water not once but twice!
Yes people I see Fox’s “When Animals Attack” program making a comeback!

FUNERAL HOME

You know you love them. The question is who is your favorite crazy ass German movie actor. Here’s my top three:
Udo Kier - You loved him in Mark of the Devil. You cried when he died at sunrise in Blade. How can you deny his insanity as Baron Frankenstein in Andy Warhol’s Frankenstein(Flesh for Frankenstein) and his quest to build a perfect mate for his New York accented monster. To know death Otto, you have to fuck life in the gallbladder.
Carl Boehm - If you haven’t seen Peeping Tom(1960) yet, you are completely missing out on the grandaddy of any perverted sleaze you’ve seen from the past 46 years. Boehm stars as a photographer, ruined by his father and obsessed with fear, who kills women with his tripod while filming them. Boehm’s blank, emotionless stare sells the whole movie.
Last but not least, Klaus Kinski - Ok so technically he’s Polish, but he grew up in Germany. Best know as Nosferatu in Werner Herzog’s 1979 version of the original German vampire move, he is also know for playing crazy ass doctors in Android, Schizoid, and Crawlspace. He is also pretty damn nuts in the 1985 Sci-Fi classic Creature. His best production to date is, of course, Nastassja Kinski., who got naked for us in many films and helped many of us through puberty.
I know that myself and Uncle Bill are VERY proud of how this interview turned out, its probably if not THE most informative interviews definitely in the top two or three. Fans of Halloween III : Season of The Witch will not want to miss a second of this hour long indepth interview with the director of that film, as well as Stephen King’s IT (which IMO is the best King mini series adaptation ever) and production designer on THE ONE, THE ONLY…..HALLOWEEN (well I mean the first one, technically there’s like 8 of em now with #9 on the way) I just personally had a very good time talking with Mr. Wallace , he holds nothing back and seems very honest about all the experiences as you’ll soon hear…..I guarantee you’ll enjoy it. If not you’ll get a full refund………HOOOAH!!
All my films are finally on one list!!! Just go to www.charlesband.com and check it out! I’m sure there are still some mistakes but it’s a lot more accurate than IMDB! I’ve also separated the “Surrender Erotic Films” as I had very little to do with most of those! ALSO: we are FOR SURE putting together the NEW FULL MOON FAN CLUB MEMBERSHIP CARD! I’ll have all the details up tomorrow. I hope to have them available by December 1st!!! I’m real excited about the design of the card! And some of what you get as a member will be: a 10% discount on anything purchased at www.fullmoondirect.com, free admission to all road shows, a 20% discount on all merchandise purchased at any road show or any convention Full Moon attends, a VIP visit to any of my movie sets if you’re in LA (or wherever I may shoot a Full Moon feature!), and more stuff we’re coming up with right now!!!
Have a great day!

Remember folks we here at Bastards just don’t promote horror, we also promote independent film also. Thank you, from T.G.
RED SEVEN is currently being produced as part of a brand spanking new filmmaking competition known as Project Twenty1 www.projecttwenty1.com
Located in Philadephia, Project Twenty1 is a contest in which twenty one teams have twenty one days to complete a film that is 10 minutes or less in length. This years common element that is required to be incorporated into all of the films is “21.” Teams are allowed to define in what way(s) they wish to insert this element into their movies. The more unique, the better. The winner will be decided by the audience in attendance at the festival screenings on December 4th and 5th. A best of fest screening will occur on January 24th. Check the website for more details.
Project Twenty1 is the second contest of this sort for “team with no name” after recently finishing the East Lansing Film Festival 48/5 with their critically acclaimed horror dramedy entry, Wonky.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKAOCR7NNgA And although “team with no name” is primarily comprised of filmmakers A.E. Griffin, Brandon Bartkowiak and Justin Muschong, they have collaborated with as many other talented and hardworking Michigan based filmmakers as possible to help them complete their competitive assignments.
RED SEVEN is a dramatic action story set in the shady world of underground gambling with it’s arms firmly wrapped around a damaged love triangle and a climax that is certain to unnerve even the most jaded of film viewers. This short film features the powerhouse acting talents of Michael McCallum, David Prouty and Grace Anne Rowan.
No worries though if you can’t make it to Philadelphia to catch any of the Project Twenty1 films on the big screen, RED SEVEN will make it’s Internet debut on January 25th on several streaming media services such as MySpace, YouTube and Revver.
For more information and updates on RED SEVEN or other films by Michigan filmmakers, please check out UnSAFE FIlm Office at www.unsafefilmoffice.com

The question I been getting: “So, are you going to see it?” For some reason this remake is drawing me to it! I don’t know why, but since reading about it I have thought about seeing it at the theaters but being a big believer that the Hollywood remakes are killing the horror film genre I might end up waiting for DVD and just going to the remake of Halloween next year? But for some reason I have a feeling this might be one exception recently that might just not insult the original? But that will remain to be seen until next month!
I have been made adware recently of a new horror radio show:

Gross Movie Reviews #74
By Tim Gross
Haunted Highway (DVD) – Another lame attempt at a ghost story shot DV that sounded good on paper but fell apart the first second the camera started rolling! The title pretty much speaks for itself with a cover that pretty much copies the ‘Emily Rose’ image from that other stupid movie. I give it a ½ star.
BTK Killer (DVD) – First when filmmakers are going to undertake something like this I feel you better have some kind of budget or a very talented cast? This movie had neither as the filmmakers try to capture what the “BTK killer (bind/torture/kill)†was like during his 30 years of terror. The biggest problem when trying to do a film about any serial killer is you must have a very talented actor who makes you think he is that character, make you totally believe in his acting. Second biggest problem, when shooting on DV that is usually the sign of lack of budget, so you better know how to hide your low budget? Third, the film barely runs over 80 minutes but feels the film ran 3 hours long making you exhausted once the movie is over! At all costs stay away from this tempting pile dog poo as I give this movie 0 stars!
Night of the Hell Hamsters (DVD-R) – All the way from New Zealand comes this short film about college kids and possessed hamsters! The budget is small and the filmmakers don’t hide it, but that does not take away from the film as it is made in the same vein as maybe a “Bad Taste†or “Cemetery Man†where as you watch, the budget means nothing to you in this wonderful horror/comedy! A couple college age kids get together to have sex of course but play on a makeshift ‘OUIJA’ board and something bad happens! A pet hamster becomes possessed and chaos begins in a bloody fun filled 15 minutes of film! The film is over the top and well worth checking out and you can find it at www.nightofthehellhamsters.com or www.myspace.com/hellhamsters . I give this great short film about killer hamsters 4 stars!
Nice Guy Blues (Internet) – Hopefully soon to be on available on DVD is this Michael McCallum film that not only did he produced but starred in also. The film is 12 minute short film that is about two men trying to collect money that is past due from a man on bets he made! Along the way there is talk about car speakers, drugs, etc. A pretty cool short film that you wish might had a little more background but just glad to another film with Michael McCallum involved in! I give it 3 stars and you can find it at www.unsafefilmoffice.com !
Skeleton Man (DVD) – Apparently like Lance Henriksen, Michael Rooker is willing to do almost any kind of film? This time around a bad horror film about Michael Rooker and a bunch of commandos being haunted by an ancient curse! Nothing great but if you are a die hard Rooker fan then find it if you can? I give this movie 1 ½ stars.
Batman (DVD) – In 1989, people could not believe how cool this movie was? It was the ultimate superhero movie at the time, nothing came close. It was the first time Hollywood got the superhero film right! Watching this now compared to “Spider-man, X-men, or even the Batman Beginsâ€, the movie has seem to lost its luster but it is still an entertaining film to watch because if there was anybody that was perfectly casted for any film it was Jack Nicholson as the “Jokerâ€! He played the character perfectly; he was what you wanted to see in a villain in a superhero film. And now looking back at the movie more now than ever it looks like he carried it with his portray of the ‘Joker’ character! I give this film 3 stars.
Voodoo Moon (DVD) – This film has everything: Eric Mabius, Dee Wallace, Jeffery Combs, Charisma Carpenter, a good vs. evil storyline along the lines of the Prophecy films, and lots of blood. Sounds great, right? Again it might sound good on paper doesn’t always mean it will be a good horror film. The story moves at a snail’s pace and some of the over acting by the actors and actresses especially Eric Mabius takes away from this film from better than average. I give the film 2 stars.
Night Feeders (DVD) – Rednecks face off against CGI-aliens from a meteor in this bloodfest of a film that for the most part takes place in two places, a house and the woods! Not a great movie, not a bad movie, but maybe worth the rental fee on a rainy day if nothing much is there at the video store? I give the movie 2 stars.
Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (DVD) – “The horror hostess with the mostessâ€, Elvira stars in her own movie in 1988. Did not do well at the box office at the time but keep in mind the company that own the rights “New World Pictures†was about to go under and had their own problems to worry about! But over the years in some fans eyes this film is considered somewhat of a cult film that has Elvira playing herself in the film and goes to a town to inherit her aunt’s house and cooking recipes! In the process she finds out she comes from a long line of witches, which at the same time the town frowns upon her arrival in their small quiet town. Lots of bad boob and sex jokes highlight this fun film! Elvira, the first horror hostess of horror also made a sequel to this film and is still active in the horror genre as she was recently interviewed in an issue of “Rue Morgueâ€! This movie pretty much sums what Elvira is all about as I give this film 3 stars.
Any comments please send to: LAN_EMAIL_SUBS or www.myspace.com/slasherfilmfan and you can also find more reviews in a book I wrote called, “Gross Movie Reviews Volume One†that is available at: www.lulu.com/grossmoviereviews, if that doesn’t work just go to www.lulu.com and search in books, “Gross Movie Reviewsâ€! And now don’t forget to check out my website www.bastardsofhorror.com for horror news and other related items plus check out www.bloodtypeonline.com for articles I write exclusively for that website! Remember folks if you are renting from Blockbuster you are not renting from the best! Support your local independent video store! It will keep horror alive………
