Posted by Tim on August 10, 2006

Don’t miss the biggest OSS event of the year! (Oct. 6-8)

“The Horror Convention Massacre” set to premiere at Cinema Wasteland Oct. 6-8

Cinema Wasteland will premiere Old School Sinema’s THE HORROR CONVENTION MASSACRE (2006) at its fall show, which takes place Oct. 6-8 at the Holiday Inn Select on 15471 Royalton Rd. (Rt. 82) in Strongsville, Ohio 44136
(Just minutes from downtown Cleveland and about a mile from the Ohio Turnpike & Interstate 72.)

Featuring murder, mayhem, beautiful SINEMA SIREN models, several cameos from some big names in the horror genre, not to mention cult figures in the indie music and stand-up comedy world, “The Horror Convention Massacre” has received a lot of attention from horror fans and the media (including Fangoria) for it’s unique premise and interesting behind-the-scenes stories of how the film came to be.
The big premiere takes place Oct. 6 (a Friday night) at 9 p.m. in the big 200-seat auditorium. On Oct. 7, a Saturday screening will take place at 7:30 p.m., after the showroom is closed and before the big legendary parties take place. (A third screening may take place as well). Also, DVDs will be available, along with lots of specail features. So be sure to pick up a copy.
Here is the blurb that can be found in Cinema Wasteland’s website: http://www.cinemawasteland.com/ (Go to the Films and Events page)

THE HORROR CONVENTION MASSACRE (2006) A maniac is on the loose and begins bumping off a group of assorted fans and guests attending a horror convention, including a B-movie queen (Alicia Kenney), a sleazy horror film producer (stand up comic “Hot Carl” Ferrara), a band (cult favorites and Wasteland friends Uncle Scratch’s Gospel Revival) and countless others. Fright actors Lew Temple (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS and the upcoming TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING) and Ari Lehman (FRIDAY THE 13th’s original “Jason”) who were on hand as Cinema Wasteland guests, also make appearances. Co-writer/producer/director Joe Ostrica of Old School Sinema spent the weekend at our last April show shooting THE HORROR CONVENTION MASSACRE, a homage to the slasher cinema of the late 70’s and early 80’s that uses The Cinema Wasteland Movie and Memorabilia Expo as it’s backdrop. I know several fans and attendees made their way into the film as well, so we’ll screen it a couple of times over the course of the weekend. Stop in and see if you made the final cut!
Filmmaker Joe Ostrica, cast and crew members, as well as the Sinema Siren models will be on hand all weekend promoting the film. Be sure to visit the Old School Sinema website at www.oldschoolsinema.com

Rutger Hauer is he going to Horrorfind or not?

Posted by Tim on August 10, 2006

This was something I found on the offical Rutger Hauer webpage…

August 10, 2006
I was on my way and ready to take the flight this morning. I guess around 2pm next to the Hilton at the airport. Almost there, there was a major raid by the police. So Heathrow just turned into a very chaotic zoo and my efforts to somehow get to Maryland had taken me most of the day but the result was that I just had to abandon the trip. Unbelievable and sad. I promised the organizers to try again next year. Anyway. What a mess. And I am very sorry for the fans but alas. Terrorism.
*********
Dear Friends,
this is to inform you that Rutger will be attending the Horrorfind Weekend Convention that takes place at the MARRIOTT HUNT VALLEY INN, 245 Shawan Road, Hunt Valley, Maryland (USA).
You can find him at the ‘Starfish’ booth, where he will be signing autographs for his fans.
Rutger is donating his attendance fee to support Starfish’s goals.
The convention responsibles are also organizing some Charity Auctions for the Rutger Hauer Starfish Association, where some ‘packages’ containing special movie items (but not only….) will be put on auction. Don’t miss this opportunity!!
Further details about Rutger’s autographing hours and connected charity initiatives can be found on the Convention’s official website.
Thank you for your attendance and support!

More on the film "Die and Let Live"

Posted by Tim on August 10, 2006

DIE & LET LIVE is the new feature-length film from IWC Films, the creators of the award-winning RAISING THE STAKES and the co-creators of FACES OF SCHLOCK VOL. 2!

When Benny tries to impress his crush Stephanie by throwing a party (with the help of his friend Smalls), he finds himself in quite a dilemma: a nearby medical testing facility has had an outbreak of test subjects for an experimental virus that revives the dead. When the infected undead show up to the party, it’s up to Benny and Smalls to try to save the day.

Mixing a satirical commentary on high school dating with absurdist humor and horror, IWC Films proudly presents DIE & LET LIVE, a zombie comedy experience that must be seen to be believed!
