EERIE HORROR FEST
Hey you crazy ghouls!
Exciting news!
Due to an overwhelming amount of requests from vendors, film companies and fans, we will be hosting an expo this October during the Eerie Horror Film Festival at the hotel directly across the street from the theater!
The dates of the expo will be October 5 - 8, 2006 and though we have a large area reserved, table space will be on a strictly first come, first serve basis. We expect this space to be gone in matter of weeks, so act fast!
If you are a vendor (t-shirts, DVDs, props, etc), a filmmaker and/or film company, an actor/actress, author, artist, etc, here is your chance to be a part of the action!

CINEMA WASTELAND: April 2005 Convention
Well it was that time in the spring again to make my 135 mile trek in my vehicle with my best friend and co-founder of www.bastardsofhorror.com : Charlie Fleming to the Cinema Wasteland convention in Strongsville, Ohio at the Holiday INN. Now first off god forbid we actually bring directions because that would be the smart thing to do even though we have gone to this convention twice a year for the past four years! We actually didn’t get too far from our destination just a few miles off course because my full time job takes me all over PA and sometimes OHIO we were able to get there with not much problem. So remember people lesson number one: even if it’s a straight shot to Strongsville from Pittsburgh take fucking directions unless you are Charlie and I who even fuck up driving somewhere even when we have directions!
But anyway, we arrived at the convention in a hurry because mostly we were excited as 12 year old boys on their first date because we had an interview with the great and legendary filmmaker “CHARLES BAND� www.charlesband.comor www.fullmoondirct.com How fucking cool is that? I’m 30 and still get excited meeting people yet interviewing them! It was noon and we made way to his table. We get there and no Charles Band, shit! So I made a promise to a young and talented lady “Crystalann� www.bastardsofhorror.com but promote my first and hopefully first of more books called, ‘GROSS MOVIE REVIEWS VOLUME 1’! So for the next couple hours I took my book promoting it to friends, people I didn’t know, and just people wondering through the convention itself which the good news is the book got a huge reaction and hopefully that translate into people buying it when it comes out in the next two weeks but more on that later. During this time promoting not only myself but the website I drank down a couple of beers and picked up the ‘Phantasm’ box set for my newly acquired all-region DVD player, a couple of Horror T-shirts, and an autograph from none other than C.J. (Jason from Friday the 13th Part 6 and Hellcop in Highway to Hell) Graham who was more than willing to sign and bullshit for a few minutes.
Chugged my next beer down, Charlie and I went to the Full Moon table again to get our interview, it didn’t happen again, we were told by his assistant that he was taking a business call which in most cases is I’m blowing you off and he wouldn’t be back until 4! But Charlie and I look at each other and did not get discourage we know possibly it was just not going to happen today. So we went off to check in with our friends at the Ultra Violent table ( www.uvmagazine.com ) and Mike, Amy, and Nic at the Happy Cloud Pictures table ( www.happycloudpictures.com or www.dropdeadbeauty.com and you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! But we conducted our interview with Crystalann at the bar area which went really well and should be available on bastards within the next two days.
Finally, four came and we showed up at the Full Moon table and Mr. Band was there and the interview was on. At first you could tell Charles Band did not know if he wanted to take us seriously. I mean come on the man has made over 250 films in the past 30 years, but Charlie asked him the first question and we caught Mr. Band off guard it seems because we came prepared as he spoke to us about his childhood growing up on movie sets in Italy and spoke about Empire pictures as well as Demi Moore! The interview went better than expected and got cut a little short because of fans began to mob the table as within the hour Charles Band was doing a mock of his “Roadshow� in one of the movie rooms within the next half hour. The interview will be available on bastards within the next two days or so. We moved around a bit and made more contacts and friends at the tables featuring “Low Budget Pictures� ( www.lowbudgetpictures.com ) and for comic fans of the “Night of the Living Dead� comic, “DEAD DOG COMICS� ( www.deaddogcomics.com ). Then we ushered our way into the movie room to check out the mock roadshow, to not only see Charles Band’s roadshow is going to be bigger and better but there is the possibility that you will see “BOOBIES�! And yes if you were in the room you got to see them! And pretty much after that the convention dealer’s room was closing up and it was time to go, get something to eat especially since I didn’t eat anything all day and just drank beer as usual! But once again Cinema Wasteland was awesome and could possibly be the best one they have put on. My only problem with the show was two things and they were minor but it happens at every convention was Betsy Palmer (Friday the 13th) was unable to attend with the other Jasons due to a very bad illness and not having enough money or time to get into the line to get autographs from the “The Devil’s Rejects� victims as they were 25 people deep at least everytime we past to see if we’d be able to seek in there for autographs as we are all fan boys and girls at heart!
