It Came from Lake Michigan, Racine’s first film festival and convention, will take place October 20 thru the 22nd at Racine¹s Memorial Hall. 5 5th St Racine WI. 53403

It Came From Lake Michigan, will salute Science Fiction, Horror, and Fantasy films with an emphasis on Midwest filmmakers. All films entered will be guaranteed feedback. There will be prizes for separate categories.

Along with movie screenings, this convention will feature celebrity autograph sessions, and collectables for sale from various distributors. A scriptwriting contest will be held where the winning screenplay will be reviewed by an agency and possibly produced. Related workshops will include presentations on makeup effects, film direction, and raising funding for movie production. There will be a Pitch Party where prospective filmmakers will have three minutes with a group of producers to pitch an idea, a well as a Mini Film Market where one can meet distributors and generate a possible sale for their project.
