The festival will be March 17th-18th from 6-10:30pm both nights at the Book N Bean (211 Fairmont Ave… Fairmont, WV).
Saturday’s probably going to be the bigger of the two dates, just so you know.
Some basic info, it’s a completely free festival that doesn’t charge entry fees or cover charge for screenings. Films from all lengths and genres will be screening. Seating is very limited, so it’s best to get there early. Past screenings have included the East Coast premiere of LOLLILOVE, the world premiere of RAISING THE STAKES (gotta give my self a little love), DING-A-LING-LESS, THE GHOULS, SEVERE INJURIES, HARRY KNUCKLES AND THE PEARL NECKLACE, JESUS CHRIST VAMPIRE HUNTER, and much more
Here’s a list of the features:
FRIDAY:
- ANGELS & ALIENS: THE BASEMENT & THE ATTIC
Directed by David Fickas
- SO, YOU’VE DOWNLOADED A DEMON?
Directed by Todd Livingston
SATURDAY:
- PROJECT VALKYRIE
- THE MORALS OF FREEDOM: WESTBORO MEETS WEST VIRGINIA
Short documentary by me
- REFLECTIONS OF EVIL
Directed by Damon Packard… one crazy ass flick that I highly recommend you check out.

Rob Zombie was interviewed on a Pittsburgh radio station WXDX yesterday by Alan Cox and talked about not only his latest CD comming out in two weeks but also talked about what’s next for him for the big screen. Zombie went on to explain “El Superbeasto” his animated feature, which features his comic book characters El Superbeasto and Suzi X, is halfway through production and should hit selected cities later this year with a unrated DVD to follow! Also he talked about a unamed horror project in the works with a production comapany that he could say much right now because of legal reasons.
It was yesterday that a sequel for Wrong Turn is going to be made but has yet to name a director but a script is written and might see it released next spring…

Eric Thornett’s Shockheaded has been picked up by Heretic Films. Here’s the press release from Pirhana Pictures(Eric’s wit is so priceless, it makes you want to press him between the pages of a big heavy dictionary and keep him forever):
“If you’ve ever wanted to pop a Diet Pepsi and pour it on your neighbor, here is some news that will give you that excuse! The big news in Piranha Pictures land is I have signed Shockheaded to a distribution deal with Heretic Films. If all goes well, it will be showing up in some of the major chains like Best Buy and Hollywood Video.
If you already have a copy of Shockheaded on DVD, hold on to it because it’s going to be a collector’s item! The reason is because I had to reshoot a scene. For the whole sordid story (and to see pictures of Jason Russler’s girly apartment), go to this new page! http://www.piranha-pictures.com/Shockheaded_After/Shockheaded_Bette.htm
Now the question is, how well will it do? I’ve done some calculations. The model I’m basing these calculations on is popular Hollywood movie, Titanic.
Titanic made almost two billion dollars worldwide. Obviously this release won’t make that much money, because we have neither Leonardo DiCaprio nor a giant boat. Based on these facts, I think the movie would only make a billion and a half. However, the release is only for North America and not the world, so I have to cut the figures down some more, to one billion. Which isn’t bad at all, considering Titanic only made six hundred million in the US. So we’ve already done better than Titanic!
What are the further plans for Piranha Pictures? I’ll tell you. I was planning to take my share of the billion dollars and use it to genetically create a six foot tall popcorn kernel. Next, I’ll fund the building of a hundred foot tall fishing pole, and a forty foot tall microwave oven. Then I’ll ship these materials to Scotland, pop the giant kernel, and use it to catch the Loch Ness Monster. My theory is that he would like popcorn. Then I would have him shipped back to the US, take some pictures with him, and then have him for dinner. I think after working on this movie for so long, I’ve earned the right to eat a monster.”

It’s pretty comprehensive, but no mention of The Resurrection Game. I was 36 zombies in that film dammit. Still, it’s a good effort.
