Friday the 13th remake update!!!

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

In an interview with director Sean S. Cunningham he talked about the New Line and Platinum Dunes’ forthcoming FRIDAY THE 13th “reimagining”. “Not to put too fine a point on it, but I’m attached to both the FRIDAY THE 13th remake and the LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake, if and when they ever get off the ground. In both cases, I’ll play an executive-producer role.” He further reveals, “I’m also developing a couple of TV series, one of which, CRYSTAL LAKE CHRONICLES, I’d produce [and direct a little]. Geoff Garrett and Dan Farrands [screenwriter of HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS] created the idea.”

Intrigued by the thought of an episodic FRIDAY THE 13th-inspired TV series, Fangoria also spoke with Garrett, who unfortunately could reveal little. “I can’t provide any information about the project at this time,” says Garrett, who served as assistant producer on JASON X. “And believe me, I wish I could.” (thanks to Fangoria.com and Gorezone.net)

Bloodlust

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Bloodlust (DVD), A Michael Kazlo II Film – The DVD and movie is very professional looking for a low-budget effort. The special features are Full-length commentary, Music Featurette, Bloopers, Trailers. The movie is about a young girl named Maria Hunter (wink, wink) whose parents are killed by vampires and years later after a church takes them in her brother is killed by the same vampires.

Chosen

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Chosen (DVD), Edited, Produced, Written, and Directed by Robert Harrison and Bob Heckman – First off I got to say this, “THIS HAS TO BE POSSIBLY MY FAVORITE BAD SHORT FILM OF ALL TIME!

Night of the Vampires/Bad REview

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Night of the Vampires/Bad Review (DVD), Filmed by Robert Harrison and Bob Heckman – Both short films on the same DVD, so first up is Night of the Vampires, directed & written by Robert Harrison. The movie is about a vampire named “Lucky who walks right into a guy’s house and makes him an offer of immortality if the guy, Tommy will bring back people to feed him. But Tommy’s main concern isn’t how this guy just walked in but if he can be a “bat when he is changed by Lucky…

Faces of Schlock 2

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Faces of Schlock Volume 2 (DVD), Filmed by Chris Lamartina, Andrew Sheaer, Justin Channell, and Henrique Couto – When I put the DVD in, I wasn’t expecting what happen next: a very Goth or Vamped up pretty woman comes onto the screen with the menu. But instead of just sitting there and looking very beautiful, she opens her mouth and begins to scream about how much the movie and the extras to it suck! Then introduces herself as your, Hostess “Slutpira!!

Goregoyles

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

GoreGoyles from Helltimate Studios (DVD) – This low-budget flick opens up with a man rummaging through old horror movies who happens to be a horror host named, “Uncle Dodo! No, I didn’t make it up…Uncle Dodo explains he has two films for us: The Holy Terror and Berzerkers! Let’s review the first movie, The Holy Terror….

Detroit Blood City

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Detroit Blood City, filmed by Mike Hartman from Silver Bullet Pictures (DVD) – With Romero’s Land of the Dead out on DVD now it is not a surprise with the glut of zombie films the past two years in the low budget world that Romero has sparked renewed interest again in the zombie world, big and small. Yeah, there has been low budget zombie films coming out for years since Day of the Dead but it just seems most low budget zombie films are made just for the almighty dollar hoping to get noticed.

Karnov

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Karnov, written and directed by Adam Taylor, from Galaxy 454 Productions (DVD) - Apparently someone was a huge and I mean huge NES (Nintendo) fan if you notice the name. Karnov if by some chance you don’t know was a popular NES game in the late 80’s.

The Tin God

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

The Tin God (DVD) – The movie stars Michael McCallum as a former detective who is affected by a hard to solve case years ago. Michael McCallum’s character has lots of flashbacks that pretty much explains why he taken the case so hard and begins to have troubles when he is hired by a millionaire brother and sister to watch over them.

Toxic Shock Zombies

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Toxic Shock Zombies (DVD) – First off this movie is not for the weak-minded and people who do not have any humor at all in their decaying bodies. The movie is made with not taking itself too serious as most ultra-low budget DV zombie films do. They made the movie in the same tone or humor of the South Park cartoon or Adult Swim programs.

Shockheaded

Posted by Tim on March 4, 2006

Eric Thronett’s Shockheaded (DVD) – Eric not only written the script but also directs and stars in his film. Full feature length film is about a simple man named, “Noble who is asked by a mysterious man to find a beautiful redheaded woman played by the legendary and beautiful Debbie Rochon, who is caught up in some kind of underground porn ring. Along the way Noble is stopped and followed by two other mysterious men who keep questioning, what he is doing and what he is looking for? Finally, Noble makes his way into the underground porn ring trying to find this redheaded woman and eventually falls in love with the woman he has never met. This thriller has lots of action at times and lots of pop for a movie that is shot on DV and has an ultra-low budget that Eric did not let get in the way of his vision. I give it 2 ½ stars, I would give it more but the movie just lacked a little something that I still couldn’t put my finger on but shows lots of promise for future projects of Eric’s. The DVD has a short film called, “Spider Ghost and a trailer, if interested you can contact Eric at www.Piranha-Pictures.com .
