SUBSPECIES: THE EPIC COLLECTION DVD BOX SET (1990 1997)
Posted by Tim on February 9, 2006Written & directed by Ted Nicolaou and produced by Charles Band
Anyone that has been a big horror movie fan over the past 15 years knows about Charles Band and his Full Moon Pictures that spawn such classics as the Puppet Master series, Dollman, Crash and Burn, etc. to direct-to-video movies and have at least rented a few of them. Well, finally out on DVD is the box set of all four Subspecies movies including Vampire Journals. For one reason or another just like the Puppet Master series, the Subspecies series has had a huge following of the series about vampires fighting for the Bloodstone! Let me say they are not the greatest vampire movies but at least they stick with a story and the old-fashion vampire legends and myths throughout the series unlike most modern vampire movies! Over the years the first and fourth movies were only available on DVD and the other two on VHS. But then when the Puppet Master Box Set was a few years back a Subspecies set was suppose to follow. Well, we all know what happen then, it never happened! Well, now Charles Band has put together transfers of the whole series from Australian prints of the films that are full screen (I dont think any of them were widescreen to begin with) and include the Videozones on the DVDs also! The menus suck and there isnt much to the DVDs but if you are the hardcore horror fan and Charles Band fan youll be delighted with finally owning all four movies of the series on DVD now including the DVD, Vampire Journals. So let there be a BLOODBATH! Click “Read the rest” for individual reviews.
