Independent films lose a great filmmaker!

Posted by Tim on September 18, 2008

(Thank you to Annette who was the other co-director and for pointing this out to me and www.dreadcentral.com)

Every filmmaker, no matter how small, leaves behind a legacy. The same goes for indie writer/director Joseph Dodge, who tragically passed away this week in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. As a fellow fright geek, Joe contributed regularly to the horror community and co-directed the award-winning indie feature The Secret Life of Sarah Sheldon, as well as last year’s festival short Burial Party.

My thoughts: I got to meet Joe twice and he was a very cool guy to meet. Automatically you knew what he wanted from the film industry when you talked to him. It is very sad when I found out about this since I thought the world of his two projects “The Secret Life of Sarah Sheldon” and “Burial Party”… Anybody that knows me knows about how much I have talked about these films as they are two of the best indy projects I have ever seen!

Joe, we the horror community hardly knew you but you will be missed!
